January 1933. The funeral of Mr Thomas Hankin, who had been a successful garage proprietor and the Chief Officer of the Alresford Fire Brigade. On the left, members of the Brigade bear his coffin towards the church. The cars of the chief mourners are parked beside the Swan Hotel where he had started his motor business some thirty years earlier.
