Face coverings are made mandatory in shops and supermarkets in England from 24th July. The health and social care secretary, Matt Hancock, says a store can refuse someone entry if they are not wearing one and call the police if there is a problem. People who don’t wear one will face fines up to £100. Children under 11 and those with certain disabilities will be exempt under the new rule.
