Mr Ernest Jesty, headmaster at the Dean school receiving a commemorative plaque in 1944 on behalf of the pupils and the town for the effort made in collecting funds towards the ‘Salute The Soldier’ campaign, a fundraising campaign which raised money for the war effort.
