The chemists of J. M. Loveridge on the corner of Broad and West Street in the spring of 1944. The blacked out windows and door on the right was the location of the Quarter Masters stores of the US army.
The town played host to the 47th Infantry Regiment US Army, who were headquartered in Broad Street, and stationed around the town,
until D-Day 1944.
