Villagers (who had already made the journey from the Cheriton area) wait at the top of Broad Street to board a bus to take them on to Alton or Petersfield market.
The lady in the middle of the picture stood with her two small children, daughter Seonaid and son Phillip, is Mrs Eileen Wright from Cheriton.
