The Wesleyan chapel in Jacklyns Lane next to the railway bridge. Built on land purchased for £100 in 1893, the chapel, (affectionally known to many as ‘the tin chapel’) constructed of corrugated iron with felt and matchboard inner cladding, served its purpose well for nearly 70 years until in 1971, following an advert in the Hampshire Chronicle, it was sold for £25. In its place in 1972 a new brick built Church Hall was opened at a cost of £8,000 and the new church in Nov 1980.
