Pupils stand in the front playground of the Dean School shortly before it’s closure in 1973. The buildings would then be demolished and replaced by bungalows in a small development and named Mallard Close. The original white school foundation stone (which can be seen in the photograph underneath the large left hand window) was re-located and set in the wall at the entrance to the new development.
