Erected as respite accommodation for the hard pressed fire crews and their families from the City of Portsmouth during the WW2 blitz, this was the last of a dozen or so huts on the south east corner of the Stratton Bates recreation ground. After the war the huts were used as social housing, a play group and as shown here a football changing hut. This hut has since been demolished and a new football changing room hut built as a replacement on the same site.
