Mr Frank Hazelgrove with the white beard stands at the door of his grocer and meat shop in East Street at the junction with Brandy Mount c.1905. Mr Hazelgrove commenced business in this shop in 1892, later taking over the “Eureka" Shop in West Street, (now C E Evans & Son). About 1930 the business moved to the ground floor of the "Town Hall" where, now known as Frank Hazelgrove & Sons, the business continued as family butchers and greengrocers. Following the sale of the Town Hall in 1942, Hazelgrove & Son took possession of a newly built single storey shop opposite. Subsequently the butchers business was sold to Messrs Baxters butchers and the premises is now occupied as a pet shop. The original shop in East Street is now a private residence.
