Mid 1950’s. The area of the town originally know as the ‘Council Estate”.
This photograph clearly shows Jesty Road, Mitford Road, Windsor Road, Meryon Road, Bridge Road and Ashburton Road. All of the remaining vacant land has since been infilled with housing.
