1922. The old water wheel at the Fox and Hounds, Beauworth. Mr John Hoar the landlord, with his son Mr Fred Hoar and his granddaughter. Mr John Hoar was also a carpenter and an undertaker. He is said to have kept what he hoped would be his own coffin under his bed for twenty years. His intention was thwarted when his coffin was urgently required after a sudden death.
